On March 27, 2011, the national development and reform commission issued the 2011 industrial structure adjustment guidance catalogue (2011 edition), which will be implemented from June 1, 2011.

The catalogue puts forward the encouraged, restricted and eliminated items.Among them, the projects related to the wire and cable industry are as follows:

Encouraged:

- high efficiency, energy saving, low pollution, large-scale recycling and comprehensive utilization of renewable resources: waste and non-ferrous metals recycling

- 500 kV (kV) and above uhv, uhv ac and HVDC transmission equipment and key components

Restrictions:

- elimination of wire and cable manufacturing projects (except special wire and cable used in new energy, information industry, aerospace, rail transit, Marine engineering and other fields) :

- copper wire rod (black rod) production process
